Remittance software for payment institutions licensed in the Netherlands

The Dutch small PI exemption does not cover money remittance, so a transfer business in the Netherlands needs a full DNB licence from the start. Build it on a platform that records each transfer from payment in to payout.

  • Remittances and marketplace payouts
  • SEPA Instant and SWIFT corridors
  • FX margins in price lists
  • Batch payouts with four-eyes approval

Applying to DNB for a payment institution licence? Name us in your file.

DNB wants evidence of safeguarding with the application itself, either proof that the arrangement exists or a commitment letter from a bank. We help you show how the transfer platform feeds that arrangement and write the IT sections of the file.

A Rotterdam remittance service

Suppose a team wants to serve Surinamese, Moroccan and Turkish communities in the Netherlands, many of whom send money to relatives each month. They apply to DNB for money remittance and payment accounts, set up a stichting derdengelden and show the platform's transfer flow in the pre-application meeting.

Payments to relatives with euro accounts elsewhere in Europe go out instantly over SEPA. Transfers to Suriname, Morocco and Turkey run over SWIFT through a connected provider. Two policymakers in Rotterdam approve high-value transfers and review the daily reconciliation.

FAQ

Not for remittance. The exemption covers payment services 1 to 5 up to EUR 3 million a month, in the Netherlands only, and requires registration with DNB. Money remittance needs a licence.

A separate foundation that holds customer funds apart from the payment institution. It is one of the safeguarding methods DNB accepts, next to a segregated account and insurance or a guarantee.

The AFM supervises conduct towards customers, and the ACM deals with access to payment systems. DNB handles the licence and prudential supervision.

No. You show the capital with a deposit statement from a bank, and it does not have to be a Dutch one.

Euro corridors run over SEPA and SEPA Instant. Non-euro payouts use SWIFT via a connected provider. Which countries you serve follows from your Wwft risk assessment.
