Every Act of Kindness Counts

At the heart of every thriving business lies a responsibility, not just to clients and shareholders, but to society at large. For the past five years, Crassula has proudly partnered with a local Latvian NGO, “Caur Visām Grūtībām Kopā” ("Together Through All Difficulties”), that supports low-income families with children.
As part of the support, this NGO helps to provide essential items for children going to school — like backpacks, pencils, books, and clothes. They also assist single mothers in finding furniture, clothing, and household necessities, and organize meaningful trips so families can enjoy quality time together despite financial challenges.
What began as a small act of corporate social responsibility has grown into a meaningful, long-term commitment to improving lives.
Why Charity Matters
Charity is more than a donation - it’s a reflection of values. Supporting local organizations that work directly with vulnerable communities is one of the most effective ways to drive real, lasting impact.
But beyond impact, charity creates connection. It reminds us that no matter how different our paths may be, we are all part of a shared human experience. It brings awareness to struggles we may not personally face, and it invites us to respond with kindness, not just intention.
A Day at the Zoo: Small Joys, Big Impact
Recently, the NGO “Caur Visām Grūtībām Kopā” organized a trip to the local “Rakši zoo” for several big families. For some, this might sound like just another weekend activity, but for large or low-income families, such outings are often unaffordable luxuries.
This trip wasn’t just about seeing animals. It was about quality time. Parents and children, brothers and sisters, some of whom don’t get to spend much time together due to economic or caregiving constraints. They finally had a chance to simply be a family, share laughter, and create happy memories in a peaceful, uplifting environment.
A Broader Commitment to Giving Back
While our partnership with “Caur Visām Grūtībām Kopā” is one of our longest-running, it’s far from our only initiative. Our company supports several other NGOs across different causes — from social welfare to animal protection.
What makes this especially meaningful is the personal involvement of our team members. Many colleagues voluntarily donate part of their income to charities of their choice. Others go even further by giving their time and energy, like those who regularly volunteer at Ulubele, a local animal shelter that provides care and shelter to abandoned and rescued animals. Their compassion and dedication inspire all of us.
Building a Culture of Impact
These efforts, whether big or small, all come down to one thing: making life better for others. For us, social responsibility isn’t just a box to tick - it’s a core part of who we are. We believe companies can be a force for good, and we’re proud to be one of many businesses proving that every day.
Because when businesses and people come together with compassion and purpose, even the smallest actions can lead to meaningful change.
